A great day out for the family or just a fun way to spend an afternoon, our Pick Your Own field is open from 9am to 4.30pm during our open season. Last entrance to the fields is at 4.30pm to allow enough picking time before close. Please be aware that certain berries are available seasonally, and it is always a good idea to call ahead if you are making a trip for a specific berry. There is a small cover charge for entry into the field, and then all berries are $18/kg for whatever you pick. You can bring your own containers or use the ones we supply.
As a general guide, strawberries are the first fruits to ripen, and we usually have limited amounts for PYO from the end of November onwards. Strawberries often ripen in flushes, so there may be lulls with only limited availability at times during the season. Raspberries start to become available for PYO from about the end of the first week of December. Peak raspberry usually occurs from mid-December to the end of the first week of January, although we do usually still have some in the PYO field until the end of January. Blackberries begin to ripen mid January, and we usually have peak blackberry season in February. Other berries, such as silvanberries, boysenberries, tayberries and josterberries are usually ripe from Christmas to mid-end January.
Our blackcurrant season is short - keep an eye on our Facebook page for our special blackcurrant open day, which usually happens in early January. From early/mid January, we have frozen blackcurrants available to purchase by the kilo from the farm shop and our market stalls around the state.
